Multiple in three deaf individuals have reported fighting their mental health due to the pandemic, in accordance with a current report by the deafness charity SignHealth.
Christopher Reid, Director of Operations at SignHealth stated: “We’re very concerned that 35% of deaf respondents indicated that the pandemic has had a serious unfavorable influence on their mental well being and sixty one% highlighting nervousness as what has impacted them most.”
SignHealth is now interesting to the government to do more with regard to continued accessibility.
They have backed the ‘Where is the interpreter’ marketing campaign, in an effort to increase the accessibility of data for individuals whose hearing is impaired.
